Comparison
ChatGPT and Claude can connect to Google Ads.
Hero AI is built to change it safely.
ChatGPT and Claude are strong, general AI assistants. Paste in your data, or set up a Google Ads connector (a small program called an MCP server). A connector lets them read your account and, with some, change it. You set it up, you decide what it looks at, and you check every change it proposes. Hero Marketer comes connected, with no monthly fee. Hero AI already knows your live numbers and your product, checks the whole account before it answers, and changes nothing until you click Approve and apply on a card with the exact values. Here is when each one fits.
- No monthly fee
- No card needed
- We never sell your data
Starting price, one account
A popular AI chat plan is about $20 a month, flat, and a Google Ads connector run by another company can add a fee of its own. The difference is not price. It is who does the setup and the checking. Hero AI comes connected and makes the changes it supports after you approve, where a general assistant works from what you paste, or from a connector you set up and check yourself. Hero Marketer has no monthly fee. Credits come in $20 packs and pay for both AI work and daily checks. Daily checks use 0.25 credits a day for each connected account, about $7.50 a month. Unused credits are refundable within 90 days.
How they actually compare
Where general AI fits, and where it doesn’t.
General AI is best for
Drafting, brainstorming, learning a new idea, a first draft of copy, and talking through a problem you paste in. If you are technical, it can also look up data in your account through a connector you control. A general AI tool is the most flexible thinking partner you can buy, and it is good value.
What general AI does well
- Does well on almost anything you can describe, from ad copy to strategy to a spreadsheet you paste in.
- The same tool helps with your blog, your emails, and your product, not just Google Ads.
- With a Google Ads connector it pulls live numbers itself, and a technical user can choose exactly what it is allowed to do.
- Cheap and flexible, and it teaches you as you go if you like doing the work yourself.
- A strong first draft of ad copy or a landing page, when you feed it enough context each time.
Where it usually falls short for SaaS
- The setup is yours. The connector Google publishes can only read data, and it needs developer setup: Python and a Google Cloud project with OAuth credentials. Without a connector, you export, paste, and enter every change by hand.
- You check each change yourself. By default the chat asks before a connector acts, but what you approve is the raw instruction the model wrote, not a plain summary. Where the connector uses the Google Ads API, money is counted in micros, or millionths of a dollar: a $50 daily budget is 50,000,000, and one slipped zero makes it $500.
- Limits, warnings, and undo are whatever the connector's author built, if they built any.
- The model decides what to look up and when to stop, and it knows your product only as well as you brief it. It has no fixed order for checking the account and no rule for how much data a change needs, so it can act on one unusual week or quote a number it never pulled.
- It works when you ask. Daily checks, alerts, and automations with limits are yours to build.
What Hero Marketer does differently
The same job, done another way.
- Comes connected. Sign in with Google and connect your account, with no Python, cloud project, or server to run. It pulls the current numbers itself, so you never export and paste.
- Describe your product once. Every ad and landing page after that speaks to your buyer, so you never paste a product brief into a chat again.
- It does not recommend a change after one unusual week. It checks the whole account and compares three time periods. The bigger the change, the more proof it wants: it fixes what is broken fast, optimizes once a pattern holds across two periods, and expands once it holds across three.
- Each change Hero AI proposes gets its own card. It names the campaign, shows plain amounts like $50 instead of 50,000,000, and runs only when you click Approve and apply. There is no apply all. Our server refuses budgets, bids, and targets that are out of range, and you can undo budget, bidding, and target changes, keyword pauses, and new negative keywords in one click.
- It keeps watch between chats. Daily checks send alerts when a daily budget is running out too fast, when search terms waste money, and when conversion tracking stops working. Automations you switch on act within daily limits and wait before touching the same item again, and you can undo every action.
Where Hero Marketer is weaker
A general AI tool does everything. Hero Marketer does one thing. If you want a single assistant for your blog, your emails, your product thinking, and a hundred other jobs, keep using ChatGPT or Claude, because Hero Marketer only runs Google Ads. If you are a developer who wants to write your own queries, or you only need to read your data, a connector you run yourself costs little beyond the chat plan and gives you full control. Hero Marketer also has five recommended automations and a small builder for your own, not a full set of rules for bulk changes. It does not read your CRM, so it never sees CAC, LTV, or trial-to-paid. Give it a CAC ceiling or target CPA and it judges your campaigns against that number.

Questions before you switch
The honest answers.
Can I just use ChatGPT or Claude for Google Ads?
Yes, and many people do. Paste in your exports, or add a Google Ads connector, a small program built on a standard called MCP, so the chat reads your account itself. Google publishes one that reads your data but cannot change it, and other companies run their own, some of which can make changes. Setting up the one Google publishes takes Python and a Google Cloud project with OAuth credentials. If you are happy with that setup and with checking each change yourself, a general AI tool works.
Is it safe to let ChatGPT or Claude change my Google Ads account?
It can be, with care. By default the chat asks before a connector acts, but what you approve is the raw instruction the model wrote, and the limits are whatever the connector's author built. OpenAI's own developer mode guide warns of “model mistakes on write actions that could destroy data.” Anthropic tells Claude users to connect only servers they trust and to watch for hidden instructions. Hero AI shows each change on its own card, with campaign names and plain amounts, and runs it only when you click Approve and apply. Our server refuses budgets, bids, and targets that are out of range, and you can undo budget, bidding, and target changes, keyword pauses, and new negative keywords in one click.
Is Hero AI just ChatGPT with a Google Ads prompt?
No, though it runs on the same kind of model, Claude and Gemini. The difference is what the model starts from. Asked cold, any model gives the most common answer. Hero AI comes connected to your live account, already knows your product, checks the whole account before it answers, and applies changes only after you approve. A general chat works from what you paste or what a connector pulls in, and its approval step, limits, and undo are whatever that connector provides.
Will a general AI tool make things up?
It can, when it works from an incomplete picture. Whether you paste the data or a connector pulls it in, a general assistant decides what to look at, so it can miss the cause or quote a number it never saw. Hero AI checks the account in a set order and compares three time periods before it recommends a change.
Should I stop using ChatGPT or Claude?
No. They are excellent for almost everything else. Keep them for general work, and use Hero AI for the Google Ads account it is built to operate.
